March 7, 2011 (Mauldin, SC) Jim Lee will hold a press conference at 4PM today to formally announce his run for South Carolina State Senate District 8 in 2012. This seat is currently held by State Senator David Thomas, and the election will be held 15 months from now in June 2012
The campaign kick-off press conference will be held at the Mauldin Cultural Center, 101 East Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662. This will be followed by an informal Campaign Kick-off Reception at the Downtown Coffee House & Creamery, 105 East Butler Road, Mauldin. The campaign is asking for a “suggested donation of $20.12″ for anyone wishing to attend.
Jim Lee and Senator Thomas were also opponents last year in the race for Congressional District 4 in which Jim Lee finished well ahead of Senator Thomas. Supporters immediately began working to draft Jim Lee to run for the State Senate seat. Nearly a year later and after much deliberation, Jim Lee has decided to accept the challenge and make it official today at 4pm.
Jim Lee is an information technology and business consultant, a USAF veteran, and is currently a USAF reservist with more than 30 years in service. Jim is a staunch conservative, Constitutional, pro-life Republican and has been married to his wife Laurie for 29 years and has five children ranging in age from 16 to 28.
